Have-a-Heart event wins big for Food BankSARASOTA FL -- More than 1000 pounds of food has been added to The Food Bank of Manatee, in a time of great need, thanks to an event sponsored by Digital Image Business Solutions. Several hundred attendees crowded DIBS's parking lot for the affair, which was dubbed "Have-a-Heart." In addition to the food donations, they donated $150 in cash for the Food Bank. “The event exceeded our expectations," said Joe Mercado, the Food Bank's director. "The financial contributions are especially helpful since we are able to purchase $8-11 worth of food for each $1 received." Mercado said “demand has more than doubled for food from our facility compared to last year, and the need is still growing.” Additional food or financial contributions may be made to the Food Bank at 811 23rd Avenue West, Bradenton 34208. DIBS coupled the benefit event with a ribbon cutting to mark the first anniversary of the company's new building. "Based on the success of this event, we are already planning a bigger and better program for 2010," said Gregg Anderson, DIBS' business manager. DIBS provides a broad range of services to businesses, ranging from overall corporate identity and promotion to printing and website design. It serves large and small institutions in Sarasota and Manatee counties, as well as clients from Massachusetts, New York, Texas, California and other locations.
